Spine Programs—the Backbone of a Successful ASC
WESTCHESTER, IL - March 22, 2008 - James Lynch, M.D., a board-certified neurological surgeon has joined Regent Surgical Health as director, spine services. Dr. Lynch will launch Regent’s new program to help physicians develop spine-focused ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs) and specialty spine hospitals. This spine program reviews the necessary equipment needs, implant purchase, recovery room education and types of cases suited to an ASC or specialty hospital as well as partner recruitment, anesthesia, regulatory and reimbursement issues.
“Regent has established a popular visiting surgeon and administrator program, and we are committed to advancing the standards of surgical excellence and spine care,” says Dr. Lynch. In addition, Regent has developed a spine, orthopedic and pain (SOAP) program to facilitate introduction of these specialties into an ASC.
"A well organized spine surgery program in a center with experienced corporate management is an excellent foundation to ensure the financial success of a surgery center,” says Dr. Lynch.
The president, founder and CEO of SpineNevada and chairman and director of spine at Surgical Center of Reno (a Regent Surgical Health center), Dr. Lynch has extensive experience in developing a successful spine center with a corporate partner. “Surgical Center of Reno specializes in advancing higher levels of spine surgery acuity that can be performed safely and efficiently in ASCs with high patient satisfaction,” says Dr. Lynch.
Dr. Lynch is a frequent lecturer at national meetings on spine topics related to ASCs. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Mayo Clinic and has three spine fellowships from Mayo Clinic; Queen Square, London; and Barrow Neurological Institute with Dr. Volker Sonntag, Phoenix.
